Rori Math Tutor Launches in Kenya
This July, we officially launched our Rori pilot in Kenya, marking an exciting new chapter in our journey to transform maths learning across Africa.
Rori—our award-winning AI-powered maths tutor—is now reaching affordable private schools in Nairobi through a locally-led implementation model designed to put communities at the center. In partnership with TeachUp Kenya, we’ve already onboarded more than 20 schools, with 10 more set to join by the end of August.
Access to devices and data can be one of the biggest barriers to learning technology. That’s why we’re teaming up with Jackfruit Finance to provide affordable tablets and SIM bundle access, making it possible for students to use Rori both in the classroom and at home.
The early response has been overwhelming. Over 300 student devices are already registered, with schools reporting strong engagement not only from students but also from teachers and parents. Many schools are planning student-led launch events, and several have already started integrating Rori into their daily teaching and learning routines.
This is just the beginning. By combining innovative technology, strong local partnerships, and community ownership, we’re laying the foundation for Rori to reach thousands more learners across Kenya—and beyond.
A huge thank you to Abdi Hafid Yosef and the Teach Up Kenya team (pictured above) for their belief in the power of this work. We’re excited for what’s ahead and deeply proud of this step forward.
If you’re a school in Nairobi and you’d like to find out more, get in touch, we’d love to connect you with our team on the ground.
